Carl Clifton Adams, 80, of Taylor left this life to be with the Lord Friday, Oct. 31, 2008. Carl was born in Jetburg, Miss. Sept. 10, 1928, to General Lee and Elizabeth Adams.
He had four brothers, Richard M. Adams of Mesa, Gilbert Adams of Indiana, Robert Adams and Henry Adams. They moved to Arizona in 1939.
He met and married his precious wife Beatrice Jean Landry in 1948, and they were married for 53 years. He and Jean had five children, two boys and three girls. Jean passed away May 4, 2001.
Carl was loved, and will be missed by his family and friends. He especially enjoyed having the grandkids around the last few months. He was a man of many words. He loved to tell stories and he had one for every occasion,
Carl was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He and his wife served a mission in the Dallas Texas Temple. He also served with the Boy Scouts. During his life he worked for the U.S. Department of the Interior's Bureau of Sport Fisheries and Wild Life as a government trapper.
Carl is survived by his sons Michael Lee (Bonnie) Adams and William Alan (Phoebe) Adams of Taylor; daughters, Carol J. Patten of Show Low, Anne E. Reidhead of Show Low and Linda (Al) Fagotti of Linden; and 20 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife; a grandson, Eric Reidhead; his parents; and two brothers, Robert and Henry.
A viewing will be held Tuesday, Nov. 4, from 6-8 p.m. at Silver Creek Mortuary in Taylor. Funeral services will be Wednesday, Nov. 5, with viewing at 9 a.m. with services following at 10 a.m. at the Love Lake Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with Bishop Dennis Evans officiating.
Arrangements are being handled by Silver Creek Mortuary of Taylor.
