Guy L. Allen, 306 West Ninth Street, elevator supplies dealer in Dallas for thirty years, died at his home Monday after an illness of several months.
Formerly associated with the Otis Elevator Company, Mr. Allen had operated his own business here for several years until he retired last fall. He was for many years a deacon and an elder at the Oak Cliff Presbyterian Church, and fellow elders and deacons will be honorary pallbearers at his funeral at 4 p.m. Tuesday.
Dr. Thomas F. Gallaher will conduct the service at the church, and burial will be in Oak Cliff Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Lowell Lockhart, Jack Blanchard, Tom Wiley, Charles Heatherington, Howard Jennings, John Tyler, Edgar Gharis, and Foster Lee Lemly.
Mr. Allen is survived by his wife and four children, David Allen, Mrs. J. H. Holstrom, and Miss Mary Kathryn Allen of Dallas, and Mrs. J. Shirley Daniel of Diboll, Angelina County; two sisters, Mrs. Jeat Hallmark of Fort Worth and Mrs. Juliette Wiggington of Sioux City, Iowa; and three brothers, W. J. Allen of Dallas, F. M. Allen of Hoboken, Ga., and Dean Allen of Lovington, N. M.
