MENA — Dr. Calvin D. Austin, 66, of Mena died Wednesday, Oct. 13, 1999, at his home. He was a flight surgeon in the Korean War and started a family practice in Mena known as Austin Medical Clinic in 1960. He was an Elder at Grace Bible Church, a Promise Keeper, past president of the Lions Club and former medical director of both Mena Nursing Homes and Hospice.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church with burial at Six Mile Cemetery under the direction of Hall Funeral Service of Mena.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; two daughters, Loren Herod of Mena and Leslyn Boyland of Little Rock; one son, Lamar of Wichita, Kan.; two sisters, Clair Reece Young of Sacramento, Calif., and Donita Easley of Hot Springs; and seven grandchildren, Ashley, Adam, Marcus, Emily and Allie Herod, Allison Austin and Lucy Boyland.
