Dorothy "Toppy" Dean, 79, of Alma, died Sunday, April 5, 2009 in Fort Smith. She was born December 8, 1929 in Mulberry, AR. She was a teacher who taught in Rudy, Mulberry, Alma, and Fort Smith, she was also a Beautician and a member of Alma United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Blaylock.
She is survived by three daughters, Donna Seamster of Van Buren, AR, Debbie James of Alma, AR, and Dorinda Hayes of Roland, OK; three sons, David Dean of Alma, AR, Dwight Dean of Siloam Springs, AR, and Dana Dean of Alma, AR; one sister, Elizabeth Flanigan of Edmonton, OK; 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Simmons Cemetery in Dyer, AR under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Tony James, Zach Dean, Mitchell Hayes, Jason Parks, Jason Striplin, and John Seamster.
