Helen Black, 71, of Hackett went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 11, 2014, in her home. She was a homemaker and retired from the Department of Human Services. Helen loved to cook and can as well sing and play the piano. Everyone was always welcome in her home.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Pleasant Hill Freewill Baptist Church with burial at Pleasant Hill cemetery under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood. Viewing will be today from 1-8 p.m. at the funeral home, where the family will visit with friends from 5-8 p.m.

Ms. Black was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.

She is survived by her husband, Bobby Black; one daughter, Penny Smith and husband Tracy of Hackett; two sons, Scott Black and wife Rhonda of Hackett and Damon Black and wife Melanie also of Hackett; one brother, Buddy Crawford of Oregon; one sister, Grace Mathews of Fort Smith; five grandchildren, Jake Black, Janessa Baker, Kennedy Black, Kristian Black and Eli Smith; and two great-grandchildren, Austin Black and Steely Black.

Pallbearers will be Jake Black, Eli Smith, Joe Baker, Jackie Black, Cory Owenby and Justin Black. Honorary pallbearers will be nephews.
