The Rev. Troy A. Akers, 72, of Mayflower, retired barber and Southern Baptist minister, died Wednesday. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of Woodmen of the World. Survivors are his wife, Willie Akers; two sons, Troy Akers II of Crossett and Rev. David Akers of Bastrop, La.; two daughters, Carla Siganos of New Orleans and Lynda Ellenburg of North Little Rock; two sisters, Lorene Thompson and Aura Johnson of Bastrop, La.; 13 grandchildren; and nine great- grandchildren. Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Roller-Mc Nutt Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mayflower Cemetery.
