Dock Buck was born in Arkansas on January 11, 1895 to Morgan Buck II and Missouri Jane (Cox) Buck.

His name is actually Dock Buck, Sr. His second wife, Ruby (Still) Buck added the Estes after some of their sons were born because she liked the name. Dock's birth certificate and military papers were never changed.

Dock Buck, Sr. served in the army overseas in World War I as a sergeant in France. Dock enlisted on September 17, 1917. On August 22, 1918 he departed Hoboken, New Jersey as a private 1st class in Company B, 114th Engineers. He fought in the trenches in Verdun, France as a sergeant. He is listed in the 114th Engineer 1st Army, 1st Corps. Argonne, MEUSE, American Expeditionary Forces 1918-1919. Company B. On April 4, 1919 he left Brest, France for the U.S. He was discharged May 21, 1919.

Dock Buck married Eula Callaway, daughter of Thomas Nathaniel Callaway & Mattie (Wheat) Callaway, in Clark County, Arkansas on September 1, 1921. Eula died 10 days after the birth of their 2nd child on November 17, 1926.

Dock & Eula had:
Dock Buck Jr. (April 16, 1923 - October 27, 2004)
Thomas Morgan Buck (November 7, 1926 - October 31, 2003)

Dock then married Ruby Still, daughter of Julia (Callaway) Still & Johnathan Walter Still, on Feb. 14, 1928. Julia Elivra (Callaway) Still was the 3rd daughter of Thomas Nathaniel Callaway and his first wife, Laura Elvira Isibelle (Holder) Callaway. Laura died in childbirth with their 13th child October 6, 1900.

Dock & Ruby had:
Julia Evelyn (Buck) Francis (Nov. 22, 1928-March 10, 2013)

Dock loved to hunt and fish. He also enjoyed growing his vegetable garden.

Dock enjoyed smoking his pipe and I will never forget the wonderful aroma of that pipe and the wonderful stories he would tell. He enjoyed telling his grandchildren stories of the past He would sit on his back porch after supper and light his pipe. Then, the story telling would begin.

It was he who told the story of the bear falling thru the roof of his grandma Ruthy Martha Mathilda Buck's cabin when he was a child. The men had gone hunting and the grandchildren were with Ruthy. She heard a bear on the roof and loaded the shotgun. The bear fell thru the roof.
