Mrs. Martha Jane Atchley, 73, died at the home of her son, Marlow Atchley, near Gillham, May 25, 1941, at 12:15 p.m. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the Gillham cemetery with the Rev. Winfield of Wickes, officiating.

She was born November 27, 1867 [sic], in Howard county, and is survived by five sons, John Atchley of Bog-Springs, Marlow Atchley, Gillham, Grayden Atchley, Willow, Okla., Roy Atchley, Grannis and Issac [sic] Atchley, Avery, Tex.; three daughters, Mrs. Any Brewer, Gillham, Mrs. Essie Mize, Gillham and Mrs. Lela Johnson, De Queen; three brothers, John French, Umpire, Monroe French, De Queen and Marvin French, Texas; four sisters, Mrs. Gus Norman, Mrs. M.M. Robinson and Mrs. Evelyn Mannings, De Queen and Mrs. Sylvia Haley, Okla.
