Jerry Clebern Brown, 62, of Pocahontas, died Saturday, Jan.7, 2006, at his home. He was born July 15, 1943, in Randolph County, a son of Mary (Hackworth) Brown of Noland and the late Clebern Brown. He was an employee of Farm Service. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 42 years, Velma Jane (Crum) Brown of the home; a son, Dwight (Porkchop) Brown of Success; two daughters, Janet Brown of Orlando, Fla., and Carla Brown-Pratt of Pocahontas; a brother, Doug Brown of High Ridge, Mo.; a sister, Mary Ann Balk of Oklahoma; one grandchild. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 10, in the Chapel of McNabb Funeral Home with William Richmond officiating. Burial followed in Chesser Cemetery near Pocahontas. Pallbearers were Mark Lowtharp, John Hill, Mike Layton, Johnny C. Palmer, Dean Sweaney, Todd Young, and Johnny Lee and Chris Palmer. Honorary pallbearers were Dereck Ray, Adam Wilson, Thomas Crum, Jeffrey Brown, Jeremy Wilson, and Janet Balk.
