Jewell Yates Taylor, 93, of Imboden died Saturday, July 3, 2010, at Five Rivers Medical Center in Pocahontas.

She was born March 8, 1917, to the late Jahue and Carrie Belle Copper Yates.

She married Henry "Hank" Taylor in 1946. Jewell and Hank made their home in Cahokia, Ill., where they lived and worked. Hank passed away in February 1983, after which Jewell returned to Imboden. She was also preceded in death by 11 siblings.

Jewell and her husband were of the Baptist faith and longtime active members of Maple Baptist Church. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, her husband being a Mason.

She is survived by her sister, Nina McPherson of Imboden, and many, many nieces, nephews and friends who all mourn her passing. Jewell was a "special" sister to Nina and "special" aunt to Judy Henderson and Linda Wright and their families. We will truly miss her.

Funeral Services were held at Higginbotham Funeral Chapel in Hardy. The Rev. Howard Pankey will officiate. Interment was in Bradford Cemetery near Ravenden.

Pallbearers were; J.D. Yates, Jerry Yates, Eldon Henderson, Lanny Henderson, Michael Henderson and Ray Wright.
