He was a member of St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church in Donora and its Holy Name Society.
Mr. Bagay was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served from 1941 to 1945 in the India-Burma and Central Burma Theatres as a heavy machine gunner.
He received a Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic Pacific Service Medal with two Bronze Star and World War II Victory Medal and Ribbon.
Mr. Bagay retired in 1975 from U.S. Steel Corporation.
