Dorothy Jones Bainbridge, 97, a resident of the Linwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Scranton, and formerly of Falls Township, died Tuesday, January 18, 2011. Her husband, John, preceded her in death in August of 2000. Born in Old Forge on February 28, 1913, a daughter of the late Henry W. Jones and Gwen Wylam Jones,
Dorothy was a graduate of the former Taylor High School, class of 1931.
Dorothy was a longtime devoted member of the West Falls Baptist Church, and she was also a member of the Falls Township Senior Citizens. She peacefully passed away Tuesday into the loving arms of the Lord.
Two sisters, Ruth Jones Newton and Credwyn Jones Albro, also preceded her in death.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Nancy Barz, and husband Richard, of Tannersville, Pa.; her granddaughter, Lisa Kotsopoulos, and husband Chris; her great-grandson, Cody Kotsopoulos; a niece, Jacqueline Meinhold; and two nephews, Lee and Billy Griffiths.
Funeral and committal services have been scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday in the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Old Forge, to be conducted by the Rev. Tom Harmon, Pastor of the West Falls Baptist Church.
Private interment will follow in Marcy Cemetery, Duryea.
Relatives and friends may pay their respects Saturday from noon until service time.
