Doris E. (Salmon) Bardzel, of York, formerly of Scranton and Taylor, died of natural causes December 25, 2009.
Born February 24, 1916, she was the daughter of Arthur H. and Beatrice (Samuels) Salmon of Taylor, where Doris was born and reared. She was preceded in death by her eight siblings.
Mrs. Bardzel lived in Linden, NJ, for more than 30 years and was a longtime member of the Linden United Methodist Church.
She retired in 1979, after 25 years of service, from the company now known as Diageo NA.
Mrs. Bardzel was the widow of George Bardzel. The couple lived in Scranton after their marriage in 1979. In 1997, after her husband's death, she moved to York to be near her family.
Doris will be missed by her relatives in York, a nephew, Emery W. Dougherty and wife, Janet, and their children to whom she was like a grandmother. She is also survived by the children and family of George Bardzel; a son, Carl Thomas of Long Beach, CA; two grandchildren, Mrs. Sandra Martinho and Richard Thomas; five great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Interment was in Marcy Cemetery in Duryea.
