Mrs. Grace Amstadt of Near Downs Dies
Mrs. Grace Amstadt, lifelong resident of near Downs, died at 8:15 p.m. Monday at St, Josephs hospital following an appendix operation a week previous.
Mrs. Amstadt, a daughter of William and Harriet Roberts, was born in 1886 on a farm near Downs. She was married to Jacob Amstadt in 1902.
Surviving are a husband, one daughter, Mrs. Iva Cole, of Downs; two brothers, C. W. Roberts of Downs and Harry L. Roberts of Leroy; a sister, Mrs. Maude Mikels of Downs and two grandchildren.
Mrs. Amstadt was a member of the Downs Methodist Episcopal church and the Ladies Aid Society, and of the Pythian Sisters of Downs.
The funeral will be held at the home at 2 p.m and at the Downs M. E. church at 2:30 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Hopewell cemetery.
