MISS EVA ALLEN DIED OF MENINGITIS

Bluefield, W.Va., May 23, --Miss Eva Allen, 24 years old, second daughter of Hon. L.B. Allen, former mayor of Berkley, Va., died at 1 o'clock this morning at the residence of her sister, Mrs. Henry Kendrick, of this city. After returning from church Sunday evening Miss Allen complained of suffering with a nervous headache, but nothing serious was thought of it. She remained in her room Monday, and early Tuesday morning she became critically ill, showing some symptoms of meningitis, which is supposed to have caused her death.
Miss Allen was a consistent member of the First Baptist Church of Bluefield and while having been here but a few months had endeared herself to a large circle of friends. Funeral services will be held at 10 o'clock Friday morning at the Baptist Church in Berkley. Interment takes place in Magnolia Cemetery, Berkley.
