William Earl Albright, 71, of Broadway, passed away Friday, March 16, 2012, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg, VA..
William was born Aug. 5, 1940, in Kingwood, Preston County, West Virginia, the son of the late Joseph and Martha Reed Albright.
Mr. Albright was a proud soldier of the U.S. Army for six years before he moved to this area in 1969 from Horse Shoe Run, WV. He was a member of the Ray of Hope Church and also an ordained minister. He was a truck driver for various companies, including Flippo Oil, H&R, Blizzard, and North & South Trucking. Mr. Albright also volunteered for Hose Co. No. 4.
On Nov. 11, 1960, he married Betty Catherine Harvey, who survives.
He is also survived by one son, Michael William Albright of Crimora; three daughters, Linda Sue Jerome of Fulks Run, Deborah Ann Maitland of Harrisonburg and Donna Jean Stover of Bridgewater. Other surviving relatives include two brothers, Eddie and Eugene Albright, both of Masontown, W.Va.; aunt, Mary Ann Niner; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
His funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at the Kyger Funeral Home Chapel in Harrisonburg by the Rev. Jimmy Kite. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens with military rites by the Dayton American Legion.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
