Company D, 52nd North Carolina Infantry, Kirkland's Brigade, Heth's Division, 3rd Corps, Army of Northern Virginia, C.S.A.

Residence Stokes County NC; a 26 year-old Farmer.
Enlisted on 3/19/1862 at Stokes County, NC; on 4/28/1862 he was mustered into "D" Co. NC 52nd Infantry as a Private.
AWOL 5/1862 - 2/1863.
He was Killed In Action in the Battle of Spotsylvania Court House, VA.

The 52nd Infantry Regiment completed its organization at Camp Mangum, near Raleigh, North Carolina, in April, 1862. Its members were raised in the counties of Cabarrus, Randolph, gates, Chowan, Stokes, Richmond, Wilkes, Lincoln, Stanly, and Forsyth.
