Brother of Mrs. Laura Fuller of Carthage - Funeral Services at Dudman Church at 2:30 Tomorrow

John Fisher Allen, 79, well known farmer and long time resident of Jasper county, died at 9 o'clock last night at his home, 10 miles southeast of Carthage on route 3. He had been in failing health sometime, but was bedfast only one week.
Mr. Allen was born near Salisbury, North Carolina January 1, 1859. His parents were Alexander S. and Christina C. Allen, and he was the youngest of four children. The family moved to Decatur, IL., in 1863, going by boat up the Mississippi. The father died there and in 1866 the mother married Joseph Miller of Decatur, and year later the family moved to Little Rock, Arkansas. In 1876 they moved Carthage, settling on the farm southeast of Carthage which has been Mr. Allen's home since. He was held in high esteem by his neighbors and all who knew him.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Martha Garrison Allen, to whom he was married in 1919, one sister, Mrs. Laura J. Fuller of 427 South McGregor street, Carthage, one nephew, Walter S. Fuller of Butler, MO., and six nieces. They are Mrs. Sina Mallett, Jefferson City, Mrs. E. A. Edwards, 427 South McGregor street, Carthage; Mrs. Mabelle C. Lowrey and Mrs. Ethel C. Cox, Butler, Mo., Mrs. Sammy M. Shay of Glendale, California and Mrs. Willia A. Kincaid, Hot Springs, Arkansas.
Funeral services will be held at Dudman church, southeast of Carthage, at 2:30 o'clock tomorrow and burial will be in Dudman Cemetery. The Rev. E. E. Mace, pastor of the First Presbyterian church of Carthage will be in charge. The I.O.O.F. lodge of Sarcoxie of which Mr. Allen long had been a member will officiate at the grave.
The body may be viewed at the Knell Mortuary until noon tomorrow.
