Clara Evelyn Batts, of Lawrenceville, VA, died at the Community Memorial Hospital, South Hill, VA. At early age she joined the Big Bethel Baptist Church.
Sister Clara spent most of her adult life in Brooklyn, New York and joined the Prince of Peace Pentecostal Church where she served on the usher board for many years. She was a retired nurse's aide at Kingsbrook Jewish Medical in Brooklyn. Sister Clara will always be remembered for her great since of humor and her quite spirit.
A funeral was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 31, 2007, at the Big Bethel Baptist Church, McKenney, VA.
