Junious, of 3879 Pleasant Hill Road, Rocky Mount, died at Franklin Memorial Hospital. He was a son of the late Willie and Cloria Ann Tyree Carter.

He retired from the Franklin County Landfill and was a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, where he was chairman of the deacon board, treasurer and member of the trustee board. He also was a member of the Pigg River Ministers and Deacons Male Chorus.

Surviving are his wife, Alice S. Carter of the home; three daughters, Maxine Wade and Estelle Johnson, both of Rocky Mount and Faye Burnette of Collinsville; four sisters, Mae White and Florence Patterson of Rocky Mount, Della Preston of Bridgeport, Connecticut, and Jean "Dottie" Mackenhimer of Adelphia, Maryland; nine grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
