Mary Susan Irvine Alexander, age 90, of 2902 Valley Ridge Road, Covington, Virginia died at her home Thursday evening, March 15, 2007. She was born February 11, 1917 in Clifton Forge, Virginia, a daughter of the late Robert Preston Irvine and Jessie Leech Irvine. She was employed as a supervisor in the identification department of the Federal Bureau of Investigation for thirty-one years and retired in 1974. She was a member of Oakland Presbyterian Church and Low Moor Presbyterian Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Howard Alexander, five sisters; Lucy Irvine, Elizabeth Irvine Messina, Katherine Irvine Gleason, Ellen Blair Irvine, and Charlotte Irvine Wood, and four brothers; Robert Preston Irvine, John Lewis Irvine, James Anthony Irvine, and Thomas Leech Irvine. She is survived by four nieces; Suzanne Wood Wooton of Baltimore, Maryland, Sally Allen Irvine of Alexandria, Rebecca Jane Irvine of Low Moor, and Betsy Wood Brammer of Roanoke; five nephews, Robert Larkin Gleason of Springfield, Lawrence Irvine Wood of Low Moor, William Gregory Wood of Goode, Bruce Anthony Wood of Covington, John Lewis Wood of Roanoke; and a number of great nieces and nephews.
