Mr. Ronald Thomas Brown, 61, of Sycamore Ridge Drive, died Friday, March 16, 2007, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem. Mr. Brown was born June 24, 1945, in Forsyth County, to Josephine Steelman Brown and the late Herbert James Brown. He retired from Hendricks Furniture after 30 years of service and was a member of First United Methodist Church, Mocksville. Mr. Brown was a veteran of the U.S. Army as a second lieutenant in the transportation division and was a graduate of Western Carolina University. He was a past member of the Mocksville Rotary Club and past board member of Hickory Hill Country Club. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his son, Ronald T. Brown II. Survivors include his wife, Dianne Hendricks Brown of the home; a daughter, Carrie (Taka) Sakai of Snowmass Village, Colo.; a son, Davin (Megan) Brown of Advance; a sister, Sharon (Steve) LaFevers of Goldsboro; two brothers, Tal (Jenny) Brown of Advance and Jimmy Brown of Kinston; a granddaughter, Kate Sakai; and two grandsons, Andrew and Adam Brown. The funeral was Sunday, March 18, at First United Methodist Church, Mocksville, with the Rev. Don Routh and the Rev. Darren Alexander officiating. Burial is in the Rose Cemetery. The family received friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today, March 17, at Eaton Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be considered for Brenner Children's Hospital, Medical Center Blvd., Winston Salem, NC 27157-1021.
