Mrs. Mary Gertrude Ledbetter, who had lived here the past 70 years, passed away at the Shackelford county memorial Hospital, She had been hospitalized three weeks. Mrs. Ledbetter was 80.
Burial was in Ledbetter Cemetery, located just over the line in Throckmorton County and two miles west of the Albany-Throckmorton highway. The cemetery in on a property that belonged to Mrs. Ledbetter's late husband.
She was the former Mary Gertrude Stockton, born in Erath County December 6, 1889, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Stockton. The family moved to Shackelford County when Mrs. Ldbetter was 10 years old, and she had remained her since.
She was a member of the United Pentecostal Church.
She was married to Wade Henry Ledbetter December 13, 1909. He died in 1920, She was also preceded in death by two sons.
