EDGEWOOD, MD. Margaret Cofield Askew, age 58, died Wednesday, December 14, 2005, in Bel Air, Maryland. She was a native of Bertie County, the daughter of Johnny and Tiny Lassiter Cofield. She was preceded in death by her father. Ms. Askew was previously employed by the Human Service Center in Ahoskie, as a Medical Records Secretary. Survivors include her husband, Allen E. Askew, Jr. of Gates County; two sons, SFC Troy L. Weaver and wife, Kelly, and Allen E. Askew, III, all of Edgewood, Maryland; her mother, Tiny Cofield of Rich Square; two sisters, Sandra Wilkins of Rich Square and Joyce Bracy of Roxobel; grandchildren, Brandon and Monica Weaver. Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, December 18, 2005 at Aulander Cemetery with the Rev. Daniel Rimel officiating. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Saturday evening from 7 til 8:30 p.m. Massey Funeral Home of Aulander, NC, is in charge of arrangements.
