Large Assemblage Attends Funeral Directed by American Legion
Tahlequah, Feb. 8 One of the largest assemblages known in the history of Cherokee county was that which was present at the funeral of Sgt. Alfred G. Bailey at Hulbert Sunday afternoon. The Rhodes-Pritchett post of the American Legion at Tahlequah was in charge of the services.
Sergeant Bailey was killed in the St. Mihiel drive in France in September, 1918. He was awarded a decoration, the Croix de Guerre, posthumously. His father, George Bailey, is one of the old citizens of this section.
