|Death: ||Sep. 12, 1863|
The son of Abraham & Mary Agle married Reginia Waltrick on November 6, 1853, in Shippensburg and fathered Edward Tobias (b. 06/20/54), Abner Wilson (b. 11/05/56), and Samuel Abraham (b. 08/28/59). In 1860, he was a plasterer living in Shippensburg and stood 5' 11" tall with dark hair and dark eyes.
A Civil War veteran, he first enrolled in Harrisburg May 1, 1861, as a private with Co. E, 15th Pennsylvania Infantry, and honorably discharged with his company August 7, 1861. He then enlisted in Shippensburg August 25, 1861, and mustered into federal service at Camp Greble, Roanoke, Virginia, October 29 as a private with Co. H, 9th Pennsylvania Cavalry (92nd Pa). He was killed in action near Lafayette, Georgia.
Although the tombstone claims he was 34 years of age when he died, he gave his age as 34 at both enlistments more than two years earlier.
