PALMER R. ANDERSON
Palmer R. Anderson, 88, of Waterville, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 9, 1997, at Central Washington Hospital.
He was born Sept. 21, 1908, on a farm outside of Larson, N.D., to Kristofer August and Petra Marie (Arntson) Anderson. He moved to Waterville in 1933 from North Dakota.
Palmer and Ruby Melcher were married in Waterville on June 1, 1938. Palmer worked as a mechanic at International Harvester in Waterville for 16 years. Later he worked as a self-employed farmer and worked several years at the North Central Washington Fairgrounds in Waterville. He enjoyed his work as a mechanic working on steam engines and also a blacksmith. He was a general handyman and was really a jack-of-all-trades. He also enjoyed repairing string instruments. He was a member of the Washington Old Time Fiddlers, District 3.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby Anderson, and his son, Jeffrey Anderson, both of Waterville; two brothers, Everend of Alexandria, Minn., and Willie C. Anderson of Spokane; and his sister, Bertha Dawson of Kirkland. He was preceded in death by his brothers Oscar and Korman J Anderson.
Services are under the direction of Betts Funeral Service, Wenatchee.
