BRECKINRIDGE HERALD NEWS OBITUARY – 1986
Ruppert E. Askin, a 72-year-old Hardinsburg resident died there on Thursday, November 13 at the Breckinridge Memorial Hospital. He was born in Breckinridge County on October 15, 1914, a son of the late Eugene and Estella Ruppert Askins. Mr. Askin was the owner of Askin Body Shop and Wrecker Service, Hardinsburg, prior to his retirement, a veteran of World War II and a member of St. Romuald Catholic Church, Hardinsburg. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Catherine Sinclair Askin; a daughter, Mrs. Betty Phillips, Dallas, Texas; a sister, Mrs. J.T. (Regina) DeJarnette, Hardinsburg; and three grandchildren. Funeral services were held at noon on Sunday, November 16, at the St. Romuald Catholic Church with the pastor, the Rev. Pat Reynolds, officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery with the Trent-Dowell Funeral Home, Hardinsburg, in charge of the arrangements.
