William Acosta, age 61 of Kennett Square formerly of Strasburg, PA, passed away on Friday, March 2, 2012. He was born in Playa Guayanilla, Puerto Rico, son of Cecilia Valedon Acosta of Landenberg and the late Julio Acosta. William graduated from Octorara High School class of 1970. Most recently he was employed by High Steel Structures Inc. of Lancaster. His hobbies included fishing, billiards and playing cards. William had 6 siblings: Julio husband of Viola Middleton Acosta of Atglen, PA, Pilar Lina wife of Luis Jimenez of West Chester, PA, Alicia wife of Hector Collazo of Landenberg, PA, Ada Lina Acosta-Diaz of Wilmington, DE and Ileana wife of Oscar Regalado of Kennett Square, PA. He is also survived by his Aunt Divina Lugaro and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister Evelyn Acosta. Mass of Christian Burial will take place from the St. Agnes Church, 233 West Gay Street, West Chester, PA on Wednesday, March 7th at 10 a.m., with Father Anthony Cossavella officiating. Final commendation and farewell will be in the St. Agnes Cemetery. A viewing will take place at the Shivery Funeral Home, 111 Elizabeth Street, Christiana, PA on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m and again at the church on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until time of service. The Rosary will be recited on Tuesday evening at 7:15 p.m. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
