Chester "Cy" Adamski, formerly of Philadelphia, died peacefully Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2008, at Pine Run Community Center. He was 86.
Born and raised in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Anthony and Marcella (Zajac) Adamski.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Michael, Benjamin, Walter, Jean and Wanda.
He was the beloved husband for 51 years of the late Dolores (Markurat) Adamski.
He was the loving father of Ronald Mark Adamski and his wife, Mary; "pop-pop" to grandchildren Rachel, Lauren and Matthew; and guardian to Fran Tomkowitz.
Chester held many jobs. He retired in 1991 from Fisher and Porter after 27 years in process control and instrumentation.
His favorite activities included gardening, talking about finance and math, telling stories about his youth, and always giving advice with a wonderful sense of humor. He beamed with pride when discussing his three grandchildren and taught them many life lessons.
He will be truly missed by the many family and friends whose lives he touched through the years.
His family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at Lakeview Assisted Living, Doylestown Hospice, and the Pine Run Community Center for all the love, support and great care that was provided to Chester through the past year.
Chester's funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Broad Street and Route 152, Hilltown. The family will receive friends from 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday at Shelly Funeral Home, Easton and Kellers Church roads, Plumsteadville. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Chester's name may be sent to Lakeview Education Fund, 2425 Lower State Road, Doylestown, PA 18901.
