MONTGOMERY -DOROTHY M. ALEXANDER, 80, wife of Emery L. Alexander of 207 Chestnut St., Towanda, died Tuesday morning, April 6, 1999, at the Blake Hospital, Bradenton, Fla. Born Aug. 11, 1918, in Towanda, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Almeda Bailey Montgomery. Dorothy was a graduate of Towanda High School, Class of 1937. On Nov. 7, 1942, she married Emery L. Alexander at her parents' home in Towanda. In early years, Dorothy was employed by the Hoffman's Department Store and Boyle's Store in Towanda. She was later employed by the Towanda Area School District for many years before retiring in 1977. Mr. and Mrs. Alexander spent their winter months for the past 22 years at the Golf Lakes' Mobile Estates in Bradenton, Fla. She was a member of the Towanda First United Methodist Church and Towanda American Legion Post No. 42 Auxiliary. Surviving are her husband Emery L. Alexander, at home, two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Jerry Sivers of RR 2, Montrose, Pa., and Sharon and Paul Horinka of Reading, Pa.; a grandson and his wife, David M. and Jodi Blascak of Wysox; a grandson, Brian C. Horinka of Reading, Pa.; and tow great-grandsons, Mitchell and Kyle Blascak. The funeral service will be held Monday, April 12, 1999, at 2 p.m. at the Maryott-Bowen Funeral home, 217 York Ave., Towanda, with the Rev. Allen Hulslander, pastor of the Towanda First United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in the Oak Hill cemetery, Towanda. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home. The family suggests that memorial contributions may be directed to the First United Methodist Church, 105 Main St., Towanda, Pa. or to the Towanda Public Library 104 Main St., Towanda, Pa. in Mrs. Alexander's memory. -Towanda Daily Review.
