Emily McCauley Snead Becker, 84, a former resident of Elkins Manor, departed this life on Sunday evening, Oct. 10, 2004, at Colonial Place. She had been in declining health for the last two years.
She was born at Freedom, Pa., the daughter of the late Ira Bell and Marie Dunn Snead.
Surviving are two sons, Phillip of Elkins and Dean of Rome, Ga.; one daughter, Alison Johnston of Chesterfield, Va.; one brother, Richard Snead of Zelienople, Pa.; and one granddaughter, Amy Becker of Rome, Ga.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Elkins and had been attending Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church in Elkins.
Mrs. Becker's request for cremation was honored. Friends are invited to celebrate her life with a memorial service at 7 p.m Thursday at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins. The Rev. Linda Roberts will officiate and interment of the cremains will follow at a later date at the Oak Grove Cemetery at Freedom, Pa. The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of contributions in Mrs. Becker's honor to Mountain Hospice Inc., 1410 Crim Ave., Belington, W.Va. 26250.
