James Armour's will
January 10, 1872
I James Armour of Greenwood Township County of Crawford and State of Pennsylvania, being of Sound Mind and Memory, do make this my last Will & Testament direct I order that after my decease all just debts. And expenses of my funeral be Paid out of my personal property; and all personal property I may be possess of at my decease I order that it remain on the farm for the use of the farm" and to be held by my son James" as his own. I further give unto my son James the farm on which I live to be for his use in for Simple. "And further I order that My son James Pay unto my Daughter Elisabeth Smock: one thousand dollars And James is to have a reasonable time after my decease to Pay her and without interest. " And I further order that James Pay unto my nephew Armour Mabin twenty five dollars. And I further order that James keep his mother in Comfortable Circumstances, as to food and clothing. And if at any time, she wishes to go to her daughter Elisabeth and make her home with her; Jame is to Pay Elisabeth and amount which James and Elisabeth been agree upon. And I further appoint my son, James, to execute this my last will and testament. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this Tenth day of January in the year of our Lord, One Thousand Eight Hundred and Seventy Two. Signed & Sealed in presents of Cyrus Church.
