After an illness from a complication of diseases, David A. Acker, a highly respected and esteemed resident of Egypt, died at his home at that place on Wednesday morning at 3.15 o'clock, in his 75th year.
Mr. Acker was born at Longswamp, Berks county, a son of Nathan A. and Abegalia, nee Nagle, Acker. Up until a few years ago, when he retired from active work, he was employed as a weighmaster at the Alliance Cement Co. plant at Egypt. He was a member of No. Surrender Lodge, 103, I.O.U.A.M., of Catasauqua.
Besides his widow, Mary, nee Karl, Acker, he is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Richard Peters, of Coplay, and two sons, John A., of Port Huron, Mich., and Clinton W. Acker, of Egypt. Twelve grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren also survive.
The funeral will be held from his late home, Main street, Egypt, on Sunday at 2 p.m., with services at the house and interment in the Egypt cemetery.
