Billy Banks, 59 of Kellyville passed away at St. John Medical Center. Funeral services are pending. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Sapulpa, OK. (Tulsa World)
Billy Eugene Banks, 59, of Kellyville passed away on Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at St. John Medical Center, Tulsa, Okla. He was born on December 16, 1952, in Tulsa to William and Margie (Taylor) Banks, Jr., He lived in Kellyville all of his life. He attended Kellyville schools and graduated from O.S.U. He was retired after 33 years with the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers in May 2008 where he was chief of operations at the time of retirement. He married Sharon (Heard) Banks on August 16, 1974. He was a member of Kellyville Holiness Church where he taught the Bible Class for 24 years and served as a Deacon for 17 years. He also served on the Kellyville School Board for 10 years and a member of the Kellyville FFA Booster Club.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Margie Banks.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon Banks of the home; children, Travis Banks and wife April and Jason Banks and wife Monica; grandchildren, Danielle and Austin Banks, Madalynn Banks, Hunter Banks, Mason Banks, Natalie Banks, and Cheyanne Banks; sister, Sharon Richison and husband Bob; and father and mother-in-law, Paul and Dorothy Heard.

Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Friday, March 16, 2012, at Smith Funeral Chapel, Sapulpa, Okla. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 17, 2012, at Kellyville Free Holiness Church. Officiating will be Brother Justin Richison, Brother Tommy Toliver, Brother Jonathan Brock and Brother Ronnie Baker. Pallbearers will be William McGuire, Chris McGuire, Roger Lovell, Danny Lovell, Tad Rupert, and Sam Auld. Honorary Pallbearers will be Junior Lovell, Harlen Hughes, Bill Bostick, Leon Banks, Orville Cercy and Jerry Heard. Interment to follow at Kellyville Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.
