Norma Powell Adams, 63, of Checotah, died Thursday, December 30, 1999, at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa.
Mrs. Adams was born June 11, 1936 in Sapulpa. She graduated from Kellyville High School and attended St. John's Nursing School. She retired as the first deputy in the Creek County Court Clerk's office in 1991.
She and her husband Winford, moved to Eufala Lake after their retirement.
Mrs. Adams is survived by her husband Winford, of the home; a daughter, Stephanie Vaughan of El Reno; two grandchildren, Stephen and Kristin Vaughan; an adopted granddaughter, Anastasia Driscoll; and two brothers, Jack Powell and his wife Ann, of Tulsa and Bill Powell and his wife Flora Jo, of Sand Springs.
She was preceeded in death by her son, Bradford, on February 7, 1999, and a sister, Charlene Balcer.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, January 3, 2000, in the Smith Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Robert Shaw officiating. Interment will follow in the Kellyville Cemetary under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.
The casket will not be open at the service.
Serving as pall bearers will be Gerald Adams, Richard Adams, Roy Kite, Craig Powell and Brent Presnell.
Honorary pall bearers will be Harold Adams and Jack McGlasson.
