Funeral services for Manuel R. Aguayo, age 74, of Lamesa were set for 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church with Father Joseph Kurumbel officiating.

Burial was to follow at Lamesa Memorial Park with services under the direction of Gonzales Funeral Home.

Rosary was held at 7 p.m. Friday at Gonzales Funeral Home Chapel.

Mr. Aguayo died on Thursday morning, November 19, 2009, at his residence in Lamesa.

He was born on July 12, 1935 in Mexico. Manuel married Sabina Cordero on September 11, 1955 in Mexico.

Manuel was a lifelong farmer. He enjoyed his family, friends and music.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Sabina; brother, Lorenzo Aguayo; and sisters, Tiburcia, Altagracia and Florentina.

Survivors include a daughter, Amalia Luera and husband, Jerry, of Lamesa; a son, Rudolfo Aguayo and wife, Sandra, of San Angelo; a brother, Marciano Aguayo of Wasco, California; grandchildren, Jessica Aguayo, Jacob Aguayo, Christina Ybanez, Jeremy Lee Luera and Samuel Max Luera; and great-grandchildren, Devon Luera, Dylon Luera, Ethan Luera, Xander Villa and Nataly Villa.
