Graveside Services for Juanita Amonett will be 10 a.m. Monday, August 11, 2008 at Lamesa Memorial Park with the Rev. Clifton Igo and the Rev. Rush Coffman officiating under the direction of Branon Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at Second Baptist Church in the parlor following lunch on the day of the service.
She died on Wednesday, August 6, 2008 at the age of 88 in Kerrville.
She was born on April 14, 1920 to Robert William and Letha Amick in Whiteflat.
She married Clyde Amonett on December 5, 1940 in Motley Co. He died in 1992.
Juanita grew up in Flomot with brothers, Louis, Roy, Howard, and one sister, Bobbie. She attended school at Flomot and West Texas State University. As a young woman she taught school. She then raised her family and later worked for Texas Department of Human Services until her retirement. After her retirement she took much joy from teaching the Ladies S.S. Class at Second Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by all of her siblings; a son, Johnny Amonett; and daughter-in-law, Nancy Amonett.
