Jaycee "Smokey" Bell was born March 6, 1951 in Temple, Bell County, Texas and went to be with our Lord on March 22, 2011 in Morgantown, W.Va.
Smokey graduated from Springfield High School in Springfield, Colo., in 1969 and attended Lamar Community College in Lamar, Colorado prior to marrying Cheryl Gibson in 1969. They had one daughter, Brandy Wylene.
Smokey moved to Houston, Texas and worked on the Port of Houston. He married Carolyn Tooter in 1976. They had two children, Jessica Christine and Calvin Frank. Smokey owned and operated a trucking company before moving to Richwood, W.Va., where he owned Smokey`s. He loved living in the West Virginia mountains. He had a heart bigger than Texas and loved all of his big family.
Smokey is survived by his children: Brandy Hutto and husband Chris of Denver, Colo.; Jessica Bell of Richwood, W.Va.; Calvin Bell and wife Jessica of Richwood, W.Va.; former wives and friends: Cheryl Bridge of Pueblo West, Colo., and Carolyn Bell of Richwood, W.Va.; his grandchildren: Cirstye Schaller of Garden City, Kan.; Colby Schaller, Jet Hutto and Nash Hutto of Denver, Colo.; Cody Bell and Ceylee Dillard of Richwood, W.Va.
He is also survived by his sisters: Jo Jimmie Ganatta of Trinidad, Colo.; and Cynthia Sargent of Houston, Texas.; his nieces: Marsha Nelson of Colorado City, Colo.; Maxie Everhart of Trinidad, Colo.; and Teddra Kinsey of McLean, Texas; his nephews: Hershel Cook and Dusty Cook of Keller, Texas; Stormy Cook of Austin, Texas; and great nieces: Prina Fitzgerald, Eliza Everhart, Lizzy Everhart, and Misty Cook; and great nephews: Grady Garrison and Travis Cook.
Smokey was preceded in death by his parents J.C. and Wylene Bell, and his grandparents Jim and Tempie Bell and Frank and Leta Ellis.
A celebration of his life was held on March 25, 2011 in Richwood, W.Va. His final resting place will be in Hulver Cemetery in Estelline, Texas.
