Ardmore — A celebration of life for Charles Ray (Hank) Banks, age 69, will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at Macedonia Baptist Church with Pastor John Roberts officiating and son Michael Banks delivering the eulogy. Interment will follow in Clearview Cemetery.
Hank was born Feb. 21, 1943 in Berwyn to Earl and Etta (Williams) Banks. At a young age, he united with Calvary Baptist Church in Gene Autry. He graduated from Berwyn High School and married the former Dorothy Stubblefield. Hank was a long time ranch hand for both Daube and Noble Ranches. A renowned cowboy, Hank was recently inducted into the Cowboy Hall of Fame.
Hank is preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Yvonne Long, and a brother Larry Banks. He leaves to forever cherish precious memories his wife Dorothy of the home; 7 sons: Bobby Forbes, Michael Banks, Marcus Banks and Carl Banks, each of Seattle, Ralph Forbes and Rodney Forbes, both of Ardmore, Chris Banks, Atlanta; 5 daughters: Charla Evette McClain of Birmingham, Ala., Sheila Manuel, Ardmore, Cherise, Ross, Saint Leonard, Md and Raquel Banks, Tulsa.
Five brothers; Louis, Ardmore, Raymond, Inola, Kevin, Missouri and Dennis, Utah; 5 sisters: Linda, Ernesta, Brenda and Rene of California and Eva of North Carolina; 34 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren; 3 aunts, Christine Clark, Oklahoma City; Rose Williams, Ardmore and Tina Williams, California; uncle Freddie Williams, California; a real buddy Thomas Davenport, Ardmore, numerous cousins, a host of other friends and acquaintances.
