Willie Eugene 'Gene' Alderson
Willie Eugene "Gene" Alderson, 72, died Tuesday, June 24, 2003, in McConnelsville, Ohio. He was a resident of Ohio.
He was born July 25, 1930, in Adolphus, Ky. His parents were Everett and Irene (Hobdy) Alderson. He married Eleanore (Hamlin) Alderson. She survives. Other survivors include three daughters, Lori Cody of Gallipolis, Ohio, Linda Witham and Phyllis Ebling; two brothers, Jim Alderson of Martinsville and Max Alderson of Nashville, Tenn.; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Alan Alderson in February 1987; and a brother, Roy C. Alderson in 1986.
He owned and operated Quality Home Builders in Greenwood for 35 years.
He was a member of National Home Builders Association, Johnson County Builders Association and Builders Association of Greater Indianapolis.
He was an avid fisherman and attended Calvary Baptist Church in Rio Grande, Ohio.
The Rev. Heath Jenkins will conduct a service at 1 p.m. today at Calvary Baptist Church in Rio Grande, Ohio. Friends may call from noon until time of service today at the church. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Rio Grande, Ohio.
Arrangements are being handled by McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, in Gallipolis, Ohio.
