Ada Berry was the first child of Jesse Enfield and Caroline E Berry. Ada's death was the second of a series of tragedies that happened to Caroline (Carrie Bennett Berry Bergh). In 1864, Caroline's husband Jesse was killed at the Battle of Petersburgh. In 1867, her first daughter Ada died. A couple years later, on a wagon train headed back to Iowa from Ohio, her youngest son Rufus died. Only my ancestor David Franklin Berry survived. However, the Berry family ties were lost until we found Ada's grave in 2006 in this Ohio country cemetery, 140 years after Carrie buried her there and the last Berry moved away from Ohio.
