Arthur William Alge, 93, of Findlay, passed away at 4:20 AM on Thursday, April 8, 2010, at Sunrise Assisted Living, Findlay.
He was born on January 11, 1917, to the late Lester W. and Mae (Drew) Alge in Findlay.
Art married Virginia Ruth Peterson on October 12, 1938, and she preceded him in death on July 25, 1980.
Arthur is survived by a son, Michael (Mary Ann) Alge of Findlay; two daughters: Rosemarie (Edward) Bohn of Loves Park, IL and Judy (David) Shuck of Findlay; a brother, Joe Alge of Tiffin; four sisters: Trudy Bibler of Findlay, Theresa (Gene) Nesler of Findlay, Constance "Connie" Pomaville of Warren, MI, and Emily (Phillip) Marquette of Akron, OH; 13 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
Art was also preceded in death by three brothers: Paul, Lester, and Jerry Alge; and by four sisters: Marybelle Williams, Rita Russell, Helen Oxley and Betty Sims.
Arthur was a 1936 graduate of Findlay High School. Art worked at Centrex for 31 1/2 years as a Maintenance Supervisor and 11 1/2 years at Ball Metal Container Group as a Bench Repairman.
Arthur was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church.
He also was an avid golfer and enjoyed wood working.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, April 12, 2010, at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, Downtown.
Father Christopher Bohnsack will officiate and burial will follow in Knollcrest Cemetery, Arcadia.
Visitation will be held from 1:00-4:00 PM on Sunday, April 11, 2010, at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay, where a Rosary Service will follow at 4:00 PM.
Memorials can be made in his memory to Bridge Home Heath and Hospice and or to St. Michael the Archangel Parish.
