Wagoner - Joyce Anderson, 74, died Friday in Muskogee. Service 10 a.m. Monday, Immanuel Baptist Church. Hersman-Nichols. (Tulsa World)
Joyce Darlene Anderson passed away Friday morning, November 2, 2012 in Muskogee, Oklahoma at the age of 74 years.
She was born July 4, 1938 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma to John Benjamin and Bertha (Clark) Sims.
She worked as a machinist at Prestolite for many years, working in the office the last few years retiring in 2005.
She enjoyed crocheting, making hats for RSVP cancer patients, and making cookies for ministries. She attended the Immanuel Southern Baptist Church where she volunteered in the food pantry and also attended the Okay Senior Citizens until her health failed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John David Anderson and her daughter, Linda Machel Westbrook.
Survivors include her children, Richard Carroll and wife Julia of Bellevue, Nebraska, Robert D. Carroll and wife Pam of Braggs, Lionel John Anderson and wife Kimberley of Pryor and Julie Ann Toney and husband Keith Alan of Checotah; twelve grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; brother, John "Jay" Benjamin Sims, Jr. and wife Arlene of Concord, California and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Monday, November 5, 2012 in the Immanuel Baptist Church in Wagoner with the Reverend Rick Boyne officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons, Rick Carroll, Michael Carroll, Adrian Lovato, Scott Carroll, Steve Carroll and Nicholas Richardson.
Interment will follow in the Cookson Cemetery under the direction of Hersman-Nichols Funeral Home.
