Charles R. Alton Sr., 56, of Granby, passed on April 27, 2008, with his family by his side. Born in Oswego, he was a longtime Fulton resident. Mr. Alton was employed at Crucible Specialty Metals in Solvay for 28 years. He attended the Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Fulton. Mr. Alton enjoyed bowling and was active in several leagues. He also enjoyed traveling to Myrtle Beach and Florida. Mr. Alton is survived by his wife, Deb Coe Alton; his mother, Carol Lovejoy; seven children, Charles Jr., Mark (June), Shelly (Mike) Curtis, Luke, Andrew (Jackie), Rebecca and Barry; three brothers, Don, Phil and Wayne; three sisters, Paula, Belinda and Sally; 12 grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday at the Christian Missionary Alliance Church, Route 48 South, Fulton. Burial will be at Fairdale Rural Cemetery, Hannibal. Calling hours are 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay Street, Fulton. Contributions in Mr. Alton's memory may be made to A.L. Lee Memorial Hospital, 510 South Fourth Street, Fulton, NY 13069.
