James Grisier was born Oct 17 1833, in Bretiguey, France and died at his home in Bridgewater Township, Williams Co Ohio. on Feb 12 1920. age 83y 3 month 26 days. He came to America with his parents in 1851 and settled in Wiliams Co Ohio. He moved to Wayne Co Ohio in 1855 where he resided for 6 years, returning to Williams Co where he resided until his death.
He was united in marriage Apr 19 1856 to Sophia Aufrance. nine children were born to this union, his wife and four children preceding him in death.
Surviving are one sister, Mrs Catherine Bor in of Stryker Ohio, five children, Jules Grisier of Pioneer Ohio, Mrs Lena Wallace of Ft. Wayne Indiana, Mrs. Lucile Turner of Pioneer Ohio., Charles Alfred Grisier of Pioneer Ohio, Albert Grisier of Gaylord Kansas, 21 grandchild19 great grandchildren and a host of friends.
He was one of the first settlers of Williams County Ohio
