He was a member of the Whitehall Church of the Nazarene and served in the U.S. Army from 1945-1947 and in the U.S. Air Force as SSgt from 1950-1954. He retired from the Franklin County Sanitary Engineering Dept.
He is sadly missed by
his wife, Gwen Ackley;
step-children, Peggy (Jim) Chinn, Kathy (Randy) Keys, Greg Peck, Philip (Caron) Collins, Theresa (Clifford) Evans and Pamela (Philip) Munroe;
brothers, Pearl (Frances) and Robert Ackley;
a number of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
He was also preceded in death by
his brothers, Clarence, Carl and Vernon;
sisters, Esta Bryson, Irene Sickles, Marie Ackley and Dorothy Strawser.
Funeral service at Whitehall Church of the Nazarene, 739 S. Yearling Rd with Pastor Jack Johnson and Rev. David McCoy officiating. Interment in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
