William J. Alspaw, Jr., 76 of Marshall, MO, died Saturday, October 15, 2011 at Carroll House in Carrollton, MO.

Graveside service will military rites will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, with William W. Harlow officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Memorials may be made to Community Cancer Center in Marshall.

Born January 24, 1935 in Marshall, he was the son of the late William J. Alspaw, Sr. and Lola Breshears Alspaw. He had lived in Marshall most of his life. He served in the U.S. Navy in the Vietnam War and retired as Chief Petty Officer 1st Class.

Survivors include one son, Howard M. (Mitch) Alspaw and wife Karen of Louisiana, MO; three grandsons, Clinton, Clayton and Cameron Alspaw; one brother, John D. Alspaw and wife Sandra of Marshall; one sister, Barbara Davenport of Marshall; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Doris Jean Alspaw and Viola Charlton.

Tuesday October 18, 2011, 11:00 a.m. at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery.
