Mrs. Lola Mae Akins of Mineola, Texas passed away May 18, 2007 at the age of 97. She was born September 23, 1909 to the late Samuel M. Wardlaw and Nora (Diggs) Wardlaw in Parris, Texas. She had lived in the Mineola area most of her life. She was a retired machine operator for the Hagger Pants Company. She is preceded in death y her husband, John Akins; two sisters, Minnie Humphery and Nannie Buckley; and two brothers, Roy Wardlaw and Cullen Wardlaw. She is survived by, step-daughter, Johnnie Faye Shumway of Dallas, Texas; one sister and brother-in-law, Aletha and David Joe Beard of Mineola, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews including Junior Buckley of San Antonio, Texas, Frances Gillich of Mineola, and Jeanette of Alabama.
