| Birth: | Mar. 11, 1887 | | Death: | Mar. 31, 1887 | Since Charlie Chappell died in 1887 at only age 20 days, per his tombstone, he would not be listed in any U. S. Federal Census. The only Chappell family shown in the U. S. Federal Census in North Lewisburg for 1880 is the following one:
1880 U.S. Federal Census – NA Film #T9-998, Family History Film # 1254998, page 330D, ED26, North Lewisburg, Champaign County, Ohio: Chappell, William, age 41, Sarah M., age 29; Mamie, age 7, William T., age 4, Nellie, age 3; and Daisy, age 1.
Per a Abrams/Coe families 50th reunion booklet, "From These Roots", sent to me by Gordon E. McClung, on the page headed "Reflections": "Alice A. became the wife of Charles Chappell; they also had a family of seven children." Alice A. Abrams Chappell was a sister to Martha Abrams McClung as listed in the third paragraph on this page. Thus, the initials of "A.A." would be correct for the mother of Charlie Chappell. Inscription: Charlie Chappell son of C.W. & J.H. Note: D.A.R. transcription shows son of C.W. & A.A. - age 20 days - this stone is within the iron fence area | | | Burial:
